Growing up in the skateboarding scene Ray spent hours watching skateboarding videos and flipping through 100’s of magazines. And when most of his friends were analyzing the pro-skater’s technique, he instead found Himself analyzing the camera techniques. He soon became obsessed with how Imagery had a way of sparking interest and just loved how each film or photo he came across triggered emotions within people. He became obsessed with this and instantly knew that, that was what he wanted to do with his life.

As time progressed, he soon realized that the skateboarding scene was slowly dying, and so he started to explore other avenues within the realms of photography and videography. This led him to underwater videography for swim schools and scuba diving schools. In his spare time, he would dive and make short films and DVD’s for fellow divers in order to make a few extra bucks to pay for his own diving adventures. He also got involved in corporate events photography and dabbled a little in wedding photography and videography.

However sometimes good things have to come to an end and unfortunately due to personal circumstances, he had to give this all up and get a so called “real” job. It was a difficult time, being a creative and not being able to create became a massive burden on his soul and the drive to return to what he loved, kept the flame to return to his passion alive. And so after years of putting it on hold, he has returned, starting from scratch again with New Passions, a few new hobbies, but still the love for video and photography that never disappeared.
